โœฆ Synopsis

A simple met&d for measuring a time-resolved high-resolution FJ'IR absorption spectrum has been demonstrated using a pulsed electric discharge synchronized to the motion of the moving mirmr. Qis method can be applied to the phenomena which repeat rapidly ( > zz 3 l&k) by using a usual rapid scan RIR spectrometer without any modification to the software of the system. The fast vibrational enenzv relaxation of CO in moderatelv vibrationally excited states (u= 3-6) was clearly observed in a pulsed electric discharge throu&pure CO.

The infrared spectrum of CHCIFz (freon 22, chlorodifluoromethane) in the range of the CH stretching fundamental v, and the two CF stretching fundamentals vj and vs has been measured in a supersonic free jet expansion with rotational temperatures of about 50 K and resolutions up to 0.004 cm-'. The fi
