✦ Synopsis
The time dependence of the degree of polarization has been measured in the fluorescence decay of "single" rotational levels of ' B3u pyrazine follou%tg escitation by a 5 ns laser pulse. The emission is depolarized non-esponentialiy in time. This behavior is attributed to dephasing processes by which the initial, non-stationary state evolves into a group of phase incoherent molecular eigenstates.
