✦ Synopsis


Time-limited psychotherapy conGiicted 2 to 9 months ajier demobilization was evaluated with Persian Giilf Theater veterans of Operation Desert Storm (ODs). Thirty five treatment-seeking veterans were contrasted with 20 non-treatmerit-seekiiig ODs Penian Gulf veterans in a repeated measures design at pretest, posttest, and &week followiip assessments. In addition, psychotherapy pailicipants at followiip were contrasted with 80 non-treatment-seeking O D s Persian Gulf veterans from the same militaty units who were assessed one time at a comparable time point. Time-limited psychotherapy was associated with sustained improved psychosocial fiinctioning and reduced levels of psychiam'c and stress-related symptomatology.
