✦ Synopsis

Time-Gradient Hough TransformsÐ Constraining Object Identi®cation by Speed of Motion

A variant of the Hough transform is described which allows the measurement of the speed of motion of a small object across the ®eld of view. The technique is applicable where the object moves at an approximately constant velocity. It can be used to detect objects which are identi®able by speed. The algorithm is given and the nature of the resulting transform analysed. Successful results are presented in an application to search for meteors.
