✦ Synopsis

He᎐Ne laser lightwa¨es in an optical fiber are directly modulated by applying audio frequency modulating electric fields at the input end. Temporal drift of the output signal and its dependency on detector location are presented.

We measured temporal evolution of the coherent emission from a semiconductor microcavity by an ac-balanced homodyne detector with high sensitivity and wide dynamic range. The experimental results can be well explained by the coupled exciton-photon model.
