A modified design approach for compact ultra-wideband microstrip filters with cascaded/folded stepped-impedance resonators is described. The key feature of the proposed method is to facilitate stronger coupling between stepped-impedance resonators and, at the same time, eliminate the requirement of

✦ Synopsis
Abstract
In this article, a time domain method for designing microstrip‐line ultra wideband passband filters is presented. From the filter expected specifications, the profile of the nonuniform transmission line is calculated analytically. The filter presented in this article illustrates the proposed method and emphasizes its potential. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract In this article, a compact microstrip coupled‐line configuration has been presented to design a wideband bandstop filter with three transmission zeros. These transmission zeros are utilized to obtain sharp rejection characteristics. A loss‐less transmission line model is used to obtain
## Abstract A novel wideband bandpass filter for ultra‐wideband system application is proposed, designed, and implemented on the basis of a modified stepped impedance resonator structure. The modified stepped impedance resonator can not only generate multiple‐resonant peaks within the ultra‐wideban
## Abstract In this article, a millimeter‐wave ultra‐wideband (UWB) bandpass filter is proposed and implemented by cascading two dual‐mode square ring resonators loaded with λ~0~/4 and 3λ~0~/4 open tuning stubs, aiming at transmitting the signals in the UWB passband of 22–29 GHz. Formulae based on
