## Abstract We study here several basic problems of the quantum mechanics of electrons which are embedded into a onedimensional (1D) nonlinear, thermally excited lattice. Our approach uses the tight‐binding model for the dynamics of the electrons. Through coupling terms in the Hamiltonian the elect
