โฆ Synopsis
Bureau of Chemistry and Soils have perfected a new method which consists in removing the sulfur dioxide from polluted air by passing known volumes of the air through scrubbers containing solutions that absorb the gas. The apparatus is mounted in a small portable box. The rapidity of the determinations is facilitated by having two or more absorption tubes so that while the contents of one are being analyzed the other will be in the process of securing the next sample. A single test is completed in from 2 to 6 minutes. The air suction needed for making these tests may be obtained from the manifold of an atutomobile engine or by means of a rotary blower operated either by hand or by electricity.
