The cooled crucibles containing the solidified masses were cut into slices of ca. 1 mm thickness (diamond disk) and polished plane-parallel to a thickness of 0.4 mm.-During forming and switching the samples thus prepared are spring-mounted between hemispherical gold electrodes.
