β¦ Synopsis
Conclusion
Delayed response to electrical stimulation was not the case for this patient. However she failed to show a reliable response at her initial mapping. Six months postoperatively, she is still having some difficulty in speech discrimination and recognition. Although her progress may be slow , she is still showing some improvement. Following and adjusting to frequently changing responses in such patients is important to provide consistent electrical stimulation and encourage the patient in the continued use of the implant for better performance.
