## Abstract Timeโdependent, closedโform solutions of the 3D Euler equations describing motion relative to a uniformly rotating coordinate frame are derived. The spherical geopotential approximation is applied but not the shallowโatmosphere and hydrostatic approximations. The solutions correspond to
