Clarke, now living in Sri Lanka, is best known worldwide for his fiction, but this 226 page work marks the first time his scientific articles have been collected. The book begins with his acceptance speech for the Marconi award and goes on to include some 25 papers, all held together by an interesting verbal "glue" of Clarke's ongoing commentary on his early work. Beginning with a 1938 piece on Wireless World outlining today's geosynchronsous orbit, and many other since, most deal with rocketry in one fashion or another, It's all quite interestingly done, intermixing facsimilies of the articles with the good humor of Clarke's prose providing the context for each.
