โฆ Synopsis
Atoms with a large scattering a have universal propertes that are insensitive to shortdistance details. The universal predictions for the 3-body recombination rate are known at threshold, where they depend on a and a 3-body parameter, and in the high energy scaling limit, where they depend only on the collision energy. The universal results at threshold are particularly remarkable, exhibiting resonance peaks and interference minima. They played a significant role in recent experimental evidence for Efimov physics.

The effective field theory with contact interactions alone is a powerful tool to compute low-energy observables for three-body systems with large scattering length. Recent calculations including effective range corrections are discussed and results are presented.
