✦ Synopsis

A new hydrated thorium chromate, Th(CrO 4 ) 2 (H 2 O), has been synthesized under mild hydrothermal conditions. The structure consists of ThO 8 dodecahedra and ThO 9 tricapped trigonal prisms that are interconnected by chromate anions into a three-dimensional framework.

The structure of the title complex, (C 4 H 12 N 2 )[CrO 4 ], consists of tetrahedral [CrO 4 ] 2Γ€ dianions which are connected to the cyclic organic piperazinium dications via hydrogen bonding. All the atoms are located in general positions.
