Pompes has acquired a minority stake in Ensival Moret Asia (EMA). EMA, based in Singapore, is the holding company of China's Moret Pumps Shanghai (MPS). Based in Shanghai since 1996, MPS manufactures and markets industrial pumps for the Chinese and export markets for chemical, paper, food and pharmaceutical applications. The Franco-Belgian group Ensival Moret International is the majority stakeholder in both EMA and MPS.
PCM Pompes, part of Gevelot SA, says the investment will allow it to benefit from an industrial and logistic platform in Shanghai that will serve the Asia-Pacific region. By teaming up with an existing, modern infrastructure, PCM will be able to keep pump and spare part stocks, assemble its electro-pumps, consult local suppliers, ensure an after-sales service, follow logistical activities and provide technical training.
Japan's SNM is already a consolidated subsidiary of Sumitomo Heavy Industries, through the latter's 49.9% stake in the company.
