✦ Synopsis
PLHe-209 is a new helium liquefier. A fully automatic condensation plant from Philips. Unique. This is what makes it so. The helium gas is cooled at four distinct temperature levels. Apart from the obvious thermodynamic advantages, this arrangement optimises refrigeration output -so much so that no additional pre-cooling is needed. Nice. Circulation of the helium gas is brought about by a compressor with a difference -oil-free operation. An oil-supported rolling diaphragm provides the positive seal for the pistons. Another major advance from Philips.
