Abstract

The opportunity to design a village school for an educational institute in northern Bangladesh, whose guiding tenet is ‘learning with joy’, provided European architects Anna Heringer and Eike Roswag with a unique commission. Kazi K Ashraf describes how this collaborative community effort has resulted in a wholly inventive and intriguing design, realised solely with traditional materials and local skills.
