Elsevier and Engineering Failure Analysis. It was the third of the ongoing series of international conferences in the field of failure analysis, structural integrity and related studies. The conference brought together leading workers in the field from all over the world for a very constructive and rewarding meeting. Arrangements for the fourth conference in the series are already under way, and details will be posted in the near future. Selected papers from ICEFA-3 are being published in Engineering Failure Analysis, and the first set of ICEFA-3 papers appears in the current issue. The papers will cover a wide range of failure mechanisms and industrial applications, and should be of considerable value to a wide readership.
We wish to express our thanks to the keynote speakers, the session chairs, the authors and the delegates, who all helped make ICEFA-3 such a success; and also to Claire Norris of Eventive Solutions, and Dean Eastbury of Elsevier, who between them shouldered the major part of the organizational load.
