Thermoelastic vibration and damping of a double-walled carbon nanotube upon interlayer van der Waals (vdW) interaction and initial axial stresses are studied. The inner and outer carbon nanotubes are modeled as two individual elastic thin shells. The general thermoelastic coupled equations for cylin
