A simple and inexpensive technique for the monitoring of radioactive compounds in gas chromatographic effluent is described. Use has been made of the adsorption properties of thin layer chromatography plates to trap eluting radioactive peaks. Performance of the technique is demonstrated by analysis
The characteristics of eight types of commercially available thin-layer plates pre-coated with non-polar chemically bonded phases are compared. Phthalate esters, aromatic acids, chlorophenols, chloroanilines and aminophenols were used as test compounds.
