## Abstract The technique for production of thin‐layer chromatographic plates with fixed monolithic layer of sorbent was developed on the basis of investigation of factors affecting sorption capacity, sorption kinetics and mechanical stability of monoliths. The optimal reaction mixture for sol–gel
