β¦ Synopsis
has opened a new manufacturing site in SadskΓ‘, Czech Republic, after a construction period of only seven months.
This expansion in the Czech Republic is to provide quicker and more flexible service to Eastern European growth markets and the local manufacturing sites of customers. Target markets are the automotive industry as well as mechanical, sanitary, heating and electrical engineering.
Markus Becker, General Manager of Parker's O-Ring Division Europe, says: 'The new plant is a useful and necessary complement for our division. We are creating jobs in the Czech Republic. So far, we have been able to do this without reducing headcount in our German head-quarters. This continues to be our goal. This investment enables us to achieve further growth in core business segments.'
Parker manufacturing operations in SadskΓ‘ commenced in 1995 with products for the Packing Division. The O-Ring Division started in 2000, quickly growing to more than 60 employees, and the Chomerics Division in 2004. SadskΓ‘ currently employs approximately 400 people operating in three shifts.

The new valve stem seal for truck diesel engines from SKF is designed to maintain reliable operation during the substantial pressure changes that can occur in the engine inlet and exhaust system.
A composite of short-fiber, poly(m-phenylene isophthalamide), and thermoplastic elastomer styrene (ethylene-butylene) styrene (SEBS), was investigated. The fiber surface was modified by N-alkylation (heptylation and dodecylation) to improve their compatibility with a less polar SEBS matrix. Observat
