Abstract

A general formula for the energy difference between superconducting and normal states of an alloy with paramagnetic impurities is developed on the basis of the Shiba‐Rusinov theory. The result is used to calculate the thermodynamics of the alloys In‐Mn, In‐Cr, and Pb‐Mn. It is shown that the deviation function is particularly sensitive on the position and number of localized states for all possible impurity concentrations. Finally, a comparison of theoretically calculated specific heat values for In‐Mn with experimental results demonstrates a satisfactory agreement.
