In this paper, a previously developed first-order hard sphere perturbation theory of a ternary fluid mixture (Fotouh and Shukla, 1996, Chem. Enyn9 Sci. 51, 49234931) is applied to predict excess properties of a real ternary fluid mixture using a theoretically consistent combination rule. We consider

✦ Synopsis
The theory described m the previous paper IS used to study pure and mrxed fhuds composed of polar, (HCI, HBr), quadrupolar (COz, &HZ. CzH+ &HI) and octopolar (CHI, CF.) molecules The theory accurately predicts vapour-hqtud equlllbrla for the ten bmary and one ternary system studled Comparisons with experiment are also made for excess volumes, and critlcal and azeotroplc 10~1, where these are avadable
