✦ Synopsis
General thermodynamic expressions are presented for the partial derivatives of the chemical reaction parameter with respect to temperature, pressure, volume, and external composition perturbations for multiple-reaction systems constrained to paths of chemical equilibrium under various conditions. The corresponding heat and temperature effects are given. Derivatives of the chemical reaction parameter are evaluated for ideal solutions. For a closed system involving reactions of methane with steam, values of the derivatives predicted from the thermodynamic analysis agree well with numerical results.
