✦ Synopsis

The heat capacity of ammonium hexabromotellurate (NH4)2TeBr6 was measured at temperatures from T = 5 K to T = 345 K by adiabatic calorimetry. Two l-shaped transitions were present, one at T = (193.25 2 0.05) K, with DtrsSΒ°m = (1.145 2 0.010)β€’R, and another at T = (212.2 2 0.2) K, with DtrsSΒ°m = (0.122 2 0.010)β€’R. Smoothed values of the standard thermodynamic quantities for pure (NH4)2TeBr6 are tabulated up to T = 350 K.

The heat capacity C p,m of deuterated ammonium hexabromoplatinate, (ND 4 ) 2 PtBr 6 , was measured from T = 5 K to T = 350 K by adiabatic calorimetry. One Ξ»-shaped anomaly was found in the curve for heat capacity against temperature. This Ξ»-shaped transition reaches its maximum C p,m = 71.5 β€’ R at T
