We study lZif = L! lattice QCD with nonperturbatively improved Wilson fermions at finite temperature on 16.' .8 lattices. We determine the transition temperature at z N 0.X and lattice spacing as small as cl w O.l?frn. The string breaking at T < T, is also studied. We find that the static potent,ial can be fitted by a simple rspression involving string model pot,ential at finite temperature
