From the emJmeasurements of the cell Pt/Zn(Hg)/ZnC12, H,O, organic co-solvent/AgCl/Ag the standard emf of the cell have been determined for dioxan (IO,20 and 30 wt %), acetone (1420 and 30 wt'x) and acetic acid (10, 20, 30, 50, 70 and 90 wt"A) mixtures with water at 298 K. ✦ Synopsis
Abatmct -From the enrfmeasurements of the cell Pt/Zn(Hg)/ZnCl,, CHSOH, H,O/AgCI/Ag the standard emj of the cell have ken determined for mass fractions of methanol of IO, 20,30,50 and 70% at 298 K, 303 K, 308 K and 313 K in the molality range for zinc chloride from 0.004 to 0.1 mol kg-'. These data were used in calculations ol: (a) the mean activitj weflkient of zinc chloride, (b) thtz primary medium elkt; (c) 'the standard thermodynamic quantities for the cell reaction and for the transfer of zinc chloride born water to mixed solveuts.
10" Qj in coniunction with standard cell. Measurements were done first at 298 K, then at 303 K, 36g K, 313 K and again at 298 K. For the equilibrium enf a value which was constant at & 0.1 mV during the time of one half hour was taken.
