Thi motion of trapped molecules in some deutcrated quinol &&rates is studied by proton magnetic resonance. Theoretical wlcularions of second moments and line widths are made, for s:veral reorientation assumpiions of the trapped mo!eculcs.

β¦ Synopsis
Abstract
The Gibbs freeβenergy difference between Ξ²β and Ξ±βquinol has been determined from the solubility of quinol in nβpropanol and the vapour pressure of the solutions. It was found that ΞΌQ^Ξ²^ β ΞΌQ^Ξ±^ = 0.084 Β± 0.003 kcal/mole, in very good agreement with the value predicted by the statistical theory from the equilibrium composition of the argon clathrate at 25Β°.
The dissociation pressure of xenonβquinol clathrate at 25Β° is 0.058 atm.
