β¦ Synopsis
Excess molar enthalpies and excess molar volumes for six mixtures: {a methyl ester (from ethanoate to heptanoate) + tetradecane (}) have been determined at (T=298.15 \mathrm{~K}) as a function of the mole fraction. All the mixtures studied exhibit positive values for both quantities which decrease quasi-exponentially with length of the methyl-ester chain. Several theoretical models were used to obtain the excess quantities, but the Flory and Nitta et al. models predict the excess molar volumes only poorly.

Excess volumes of each of six methyl esters (from pentanoate to pentadecanoate) with each of five odd n-alkanes (from pentane to tridecane) have been obtained at the temperature 298.15 K using a vibrating-tube densimeter. The V E m values were positive for the mixtures containing the heavier hydroca
