✦ Synopsis


With reference to the author's previous work in the optimization field, the aim of this paper is to study the thermodynamic optimization of cryogenic insulation systems whose thermal conductivity and/or the derivative of exergy efficiency (or their derivatives) are piecewise continuous with respect to temperature. For this purpose, the results of research by the author in the field of generalized thermodynamics, concerning the properties of certain functions and in particular of the entropy production rate in one-dimensional heat conduction, are utilized.
