Multicomponent equilibria in MgO-stabilised Na-, K-and Li-@"-Al,O, systems have been computed and partial-pressure and gas-species distribution diagrams constructed. The possible (Y-to f3"-Al,O, reactions in growing f3"-Al,O, single-crystal films are predicted and compared with experimental results.
