✦ Synopsis
After a short review of the thermal stability of fission tracks in apatite, including some annealing equations, we present a smoke convection problem, which is analogous to the fission track production sod mn~ process.
This analogy leads us to ~ an inverse method for retracing the thermal history of a rock from the track length distribution, using a first order annealing equation. In this specific framework this leads us to solve an ordinary differential equation, the exact solution of which is the sought thermal history.
