Abstract

Thermally stimulated discharge current measurements were made with cellulose acetate films at different polarizing fields and temperatures. While two peaks were obtained, in general, for specimens polarized at low fields and temperatures, only one peak was observed for higher fields and temperatures. The activation energies were evaluated. The origin of the TSDC is attributed to the homotype space charge polarization and trapping of electrons injected from the electrodes with some contribution from dipolar orientation.

Thermally stimulated currents (TSCs) in short-circuit and open-circuit configuration for ethyl cellulose samples (w40pm thick) have been studied as a function of polarizing field (25-100 kV/cm) and polarizing temperature (323-353 K). The thermograms have been found to be characterized by two promine
