✦ Synopsis

This paper presents an analysis of the critical conditions of thermal ignition for a porous slab lying on a nonpermeable surface. It is shown that, for a large dimensionless adiabatic temperature rise, the influence of the oxygen consumption on the critical parameter of thermal ignition there is three times stronger in comparison to the slab whose surfaces are both permeable. The numerical analysis indicates that in the narrow range of the Frank-Kamenetskii parameter five stationary states may exist. It is found that the critical points of thermal ignition are the bifurcation points, which allows a direct calculation of their coordinates.
