✦ Synopsis

The thermoregulation, an exceptionally complex process, involves the functioning of all other systems in mammals: neural, cardiovascular, pulmonar, muscles, skin, etc. Our aim is to review the literature and to work out an approach in the thermoregulation study based on the consideration that the human body is an open thermodynamic system. We are searching for new physical tools in human physiology by employing the thermal fluxes between the body and the environment, and the energy exchange in the body itself. A trial to relate thermal fluxes from the body to the internal disturbances is worked out. The accounting, mainly the radiation term in the global energy balance, seems to be correct enough and enables the physician to perform diagnosis by a noncontact method.
