✦ Synopsis
The thermal expansion of some advanced ceramics and well orientated Bi2Sr2-CaCu2Os+x were measured from 10 to 300K to find suitable substrates with similar levels of thermal expansion to high Tc superconductors. The length measurements were based on readings from an interferometric dilatometer with a precision of 5 nm. The thermal expansion and coefficient of thermal expansion of each material are presented in this paper, along with a brief guide to specimen holders.
