✦ Synopsis
Thermal energy charge transfer rate cons:ants of a variety of projectile ions of different recombination energies with methane have been measured by ion cycIot:on resonance. Rate constants exceeding Langcvin values and energy resonance effects are observed which indicate non-orbiting collisions. The resonance effects for 50 eV and thermal ions suggest that distorted Fran&-Condon factors apply to tlte non-orbiting thermal enegy collisions.
