โฆ Synopsis
Entropies
of transport for very dilute aqueous alkaline chlorides solutions at 25" have been determined by the potentiometric method. The limiting slopes were calculated and the molar entropies of transport at infinite dilution obtained by extrapolation.
The standard transported entropy of Cl-ion was also derived by extrapolating the steady state thermoelectric powers to infinite dilution. The 'absolute' ionic entropies of transport have been estimated from the standard transported entropy following Gurney's choice of the absolute standard partial molar entropy of H+ ion as -5.5 eu.
Soret data obtained in Hz0 are compared with that obtained in D1O. Results are discussed in terms of the structure of the solvent and ionic hydration phenomena.

The results are especially encouraging in the light of Konowalov's calculation [8]. He found that Hulth&n functions (integral transforms of 1s functions), which are somewhat better than k,(q) in the Z-electron+atomic case, reduce to scaled 1s functions in H2, except for larger R values. Since k, (v)
## Abstract In several experimental techniques D~2~O rather then H~2~O is often used as a solvent for proteins. Concerning the influence of the solvent on the stability of the proteins, contradicting results have been reported in literature. In this paper the influence of H~2~OโD~2~O solvent substi
