## Abstract A series of poly(acyl sulfides) were synthesized by polycondensation of acid dichlorides with sodium sulfide using tetrabutylammoniumhydrogen sulfate as a phase transfer catalyst. The thermal stability of these polymers was determined by thermogravimetric analysis. A unique phenomenon o

✦ Synopsis
The thermal degradation of linear poly-2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate and of its acetyl and methoxy derivatives was investigated by the Curie-point pyrolysis gas chromatography. The kinetic parameters of pyrolysis were determined and the formation of crosslinks during degradation, due to the hydroxyl groups present in the polymer, was proved.
