โฆ Synopsis
Al~met--Thermal behaviour of gamma irradiated free radical and isotactic polymethyl methacrylate has been studied at 256 ยฐ.
It is shown that radiolytic chain scissions do not produce unsaturated chain ends identical to those formed by disproportionation during free radical polymerization. Furthermore, initial terminal double bonds present in samples prepared by that mechanism are progressively transformed during the radiolysis in such a way that they become more reactive and able to initiate depolymerization at 256 ยฐ with a higher rate.

Abstraet--A kinetic study of anhydride formation in isotactic and atactic polymethacryiic acids (PMA) has been performed at about 200 ยฐ using a vacuum thermobalance. The results obey first order kinetics and show that the rate of water loss is about four times higher for the isotaetic PMA than for t
