Ah&met--A comparative study on eleven MnO, preparations belonging to the a-, &, y-and &groups has heen made tisiug the TGA. DTA and X-ray diffraction techniques. Although each preparation has its characteristic thermal behaviour, yet members belonging to the same group have some common features. The heat of dehydration of y-and S-MnO, was found to he 25 f O-6 kca.l/mol. The rate-determining step in the dehydration process is the inward movement of the interface, with a constant linear velocity. Isothermal experiments show also that dehydration and any transformation into #?-MnO, take place in two successive steps. R&sum&--Une Etude comparative de onze prkparations de MnO , appartenant aux group-a-, #3-, y-et b, a &tB effect&e au moyen du TGA, DAT et de techniques de diffraction X. Bien que chaque prkparation ait son comportement thermique particulier, des valeurs propres & un m&me groupe ont certains traits en commun. La chaleur de d&hydration de MnOly-et 6-est trouvbe &gale & 25 & 0,6 kcal/mol. L'&ape r&ulatrice de la vitesse du processus de deshydratation est le mouvement vers l'intkrieur de I'interface, avec une vitesse lin&aire constante. Les exp&iences isothermes montrent aussi que la dbhydratation et toute transformation en MnO,-p s'effectuent en deux &apes successives. Zusammenfasmmg-Mn0, wurde nach 31 verschiedenen Methoden hergestellt, wobei man die a-, /3-, y-und &Modif&ation erhielt. und mittels Themogravimetrie, Differentialthermoanalyse und Riintgendiffraktion untersucht. Obwohl jedes der 11 Produkte sein charakteristisches thermisches Verhalten hat, hesitzen diejenigen Priiparate der gleichen Gruppe doch einige gemeinsame Eigenschaften. Fur die Dehydratationswlrme von y-und &MnO, fand man 25 & 0.6 kcal/Mol. Der geschwindigkeitshesti Schritt dieser Reaktion ist die Bewegung nach innen der Grenzfiache mit konstanter liuearer Geschwindigkeit.
