A new class of bioselective membrane electrodes, in which leaf discs are combined with potentiometric gas sensors, is proposed and described. The principle is illustrated for a L-cysteine sensor, where cucumber leaves are employed as biocatalysts in conjunction with an NH3 gas sensing electrode. Th
