Variousfeatures of synchrotron-Cerenkovradiationare illustrated in thecontextof the following situations: (1) the passage of high-energy electrons through gases, liquids, solids, and plasmas in the presence of magnetic fields; (2) the suppression of synchrotron X rays from high-energy electrons in t
containing possible obstructions to the renormalization of the transformation laws, and of noting the absence of obstructions when M has finite fundamental group and nonabelian semi-simple isometry group. The renormalization group equation for the metric coupling is A-'(a/&-')g,= -bg(g) P&T-k) = --E
Scattering and absorption of pions by a nuclear target are treated together in a coupled channel theory. The theory is developed explicitly for the problem of pion scattering and absorption by a deuteron. The equations are presented in terms of the integral equations of three-body scattering theory.
