β¦ Synopsis
An anaiytic11 expression has been obtained for the spin response to a resomnt YO"-r-fig puIse sequenrr for a model of two dipoiar coupled spins-l. each subject to local electric field gradients_ The faihrre of the "time-xpansion method" to account for previous experimental observations on deuterium spins in solids is exphined. The expression provides new insight into echo formation and a more accurate description of experimental resuIts than was hitherto obtained by numerical prOCfXI-The effects of dipolar interactions on the spinecho response to resonant 90"-r-4, sequences in powdered perdeuterated moiecular crystak have recently been investigated [I -31. It was observed that for an XY sequence
