Absolute total cross sections for electron scattering from CO, CT& and OCS molecules at low energies txave been measured.. An increase of the cross sections due to the formation of negative ion resonance states was observed.

✦ Synopsis
A s:udy of electron coliisions with ground-state CO2 mo!ecules in the energy range 0.07-lr3.0 eV is reported. An accurate static potential is augmented with a local exchange potential and induced polarization terms, and coupled radial equations are solved in a spherical coordinate system. Converged total and momentum-transfer cross sections are presented and discussed, and comparison is made with existing experimental measurements.
