The effect of carbon-oxygen surface complexes on selective adsorption of methanol-benzene, methanol-carbon tetrachloride and ethanol-cyclohexane mixtures by Mogul has been investigated. The view of previous workers that the combined oxygen as a whole enhances selective adsorption of the more polar c
