✦ Synopsis


An equation has been derived and tested for the prediction of the plate height on a serial combination of capillary columns in gas chromatography.

The results show good agreement with experimental data. This equation, together with an equation for the apparent capacity factor, can be used to optimize the system parameters in resolving a mixture.
