✦ Synopsis
The n 4 band of NH / 4 was observed with a diode laser spectrometer. The molecular ions were generated in a watercooled, concentration-modulated, hollow-cathode discharge of hydrogen and ammonia gases. Forty lines were measured and assigned to NH / 4 . These new data were combined with 56 previously published n 4 transitions, and 24 ground state combination differences from the n 3 band. The combined data set was fit with a fourth-order spherical rotor Hamiltonian to provide improved molecular parameters for the £ 4 Å 1 and ground states.

H 2 -broadening coefficients have been measured for 66 rovibrational lines of NH 3 at room temperature in the P P and R P branches of the ν 4 band in the range 1470-1600 cm -1 , using a high-resolution Fourier transform spectrometer. The collisional widths are obtained by fitting Voigt profiles to t
Torsional splittings of the C 2 H 6 hot band 9 ϩ 4 Ϫ 4 have been determined based on measurements taken with the Kitt Peak National Observatory Fourier transform spectrometer with .0025 cm Ϫ1 resolution. The measured splittings range from Ϫ.2347 cm Ϫ1 (the sign is relative to that of the observed sp
The vY + V~ -'I~ sequence band of the linear C, radical in the gas phase has been studied using a tunable diode laser spectrometer. A flowing mixture of acetylene and helium was used to generate the C, radicals. Seventy-three rovibrational transitions were measured in the 1530 to 1562 cm-' spectral
