โœฆ Synopsis


The Young's modulus of pyrolytic graphite having varying degrees of preferred orientation, has been measured using the flexural vibration technique. The results are compared with Young's Modulus values predicted using single crystal elastic constants. The effect of neutron irradiation on the material in its various stages of crystal alignment lends strong support to the applicability of the uniform stress model to graphite.
